Kasey Rausch

Kasey was born in Kansas City, but raised in a small town in East Texas. As a child, every summer she made her pilgrimage to the mid-west to join her family and sit in with her uncles, grandparents, and long-time friends of the family as music was made in to the wee hours of the morning. She has never known life without music. Likewise, her music takes on a great life. Her first full-length recording, "Born Near the Waters . . ." was recorded over 3 days in July 2004 at the 9th Ward Pickin' Parlor in New Orleans with Mike West. It was self-realeased on RauschHouse Records in November 2004. Music makers featured on the record include Travis Huffhines of Buttermilk Boys, Mike West & Katie Euliss of Truckstop Honeymoon, Mikal Shapiro of The Boon, Joel Kraft, and Gina Forsyth. Kasey will begin working on her next record in April 2006, once again with Mike West at the 9th Ward Pickin' Parlor (now relocated in Lawrence, Kansas.)
